Privacy in Ego Fabula®

This policy applies exclusively to the Ego Fabula® video game. The website policy is available separately on the Website privacy page.

1. Essential principle

Ego Fabula® does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information with the Publisher or any third party.

The game is designed to work without creating an account, connecting to an online service or identifying the player.

2. No collection by the game

The game contains no mechanism intended to collect or transmit data to the Publisher. In particular, it uses:

  • no player account or registration form;
  • no usage analytics or telemetry;
  • no advertising identifier or targeted advertising;
  • no profiling system;
  • no online backup service operated by the Publisher;
  • no Internet game or ranking server operated by the Publisher.

Consequently, the Publisher has no player database and receives no game-history data.

3. Why does the game request network access?

Network access is requested solely to enable the real-time strategy (RTS) game’s multiplayer mode over a local-area network, also known as a LAN.

This permission allows devices on the same local network to discover one another, establish a game and exchange the technical information required to run it.

It is not used to send data to the Publisher, track the User, display advertising or communicate with an online game server.

4. How LAN multiplayer works

When a local game starts, participating devices communicate directly within the local network. Ephemeral technical information, such as the device’s local IP address, game-state data and gameplay actions, may be exchanged between these devices to establish the connection and keep the game synchronised.

This information:

  • remains within the local network used for the game;
  • is neither received nor stored by the Publisher;
  • is used only to discover devices and maintain the game session;
  • is no longer needed once the game or local connection ends.

LAN mode is not an online mode: players must be connected to the same local network.

5. Data stored on the device

Any settings, preferences or saved games created by the game remain on the User’s device. They are not sent to the Publisher.

The User may delete this data using the features provided by their system or by uninstalling the game, subject to the device’s own operation and any backups made by the system itself.

6. Operating system and third-party platforms

The operating system, device manufacturer, store from which the game was obtained, or a backup service enabled by the User may process data independently of the game. Such processing is carried out under their own responsibility and according to their respective policies.

The Publisher does not receive this data through the game and does not control technical logs or backups that these third-party services may create.

7. Protecting children

The game does not collect any information about its Users, including children. It offers no account creation, name entry, online messaging or public profile.

For a local-network game, the child’s legal representative is still encouraged to supervise their network access and choice of other participants.

8. Local-network security

The User is responsible for the security of their router, Wi-Fi and devices authorised to join their local network. We recommend using a password-protected private network and not starting a LAN game on a public or untrusted network.

System firewalls and permissions may be configured to restrict the game’s network access. Disabling network access may prevent local multiplayer from working.

9. Changes and contact

If the game changes in the future to include data collection or an online service, this policy will be updated before such processing is enabled, and the required information or consent will then be presented to the User.
